Length-of-stay discounts — a discount from X nights

Updated on 2026-10-01

Want to reward longer stays? With a length-of-stay discount you automatically give a discount from a certain number of nights, e.g. −5% from 3 nights and −10% from 7 nights. The discount applies on your own booking site, for phone bookings, in quotes and on your channels (Booking.com, Airbnb, …).

Setting up a length-of-stay discount

  1. Go to Management → Rates.
  2. In the Rate profiles block, click New profile.
  3. As the Type, choose Length of stay.
  4. Fill in:
    • Name, e.g. "Weekly discount". The guest sees this name as the discount label.
    • Discount from … nights: the threshold, e.g. 7.
    • Adjustment type: usually Percentage; a Fixed amount is also possible.
    • Value: a negative number, e.g. −10 for a 10% discount or −20 for €20.
    • For a fixed amount: tick Amount applies per night if the amount should come off every night (see below).
  5. Leave Active ticked and click Save.

Under Advanced (limit rooms, priority) you can limit the profile to certain rooms (Only for these rooms (empty = all)).

Feel free to create several profiles for different thresholds, e.g. −5% from 3 nights, −10% from 7 nights and −20% from 30 nights.

How is the discount calculated?

  • BedFlow first calculates the regular nightly prices (base price, season, public holiday and occupancy price, see Rate management) and then applies the discount to the room total.
  • Percentage: comes off the room total. Room at €120 per night, −10% from 7 nights: 7 nights = €840 becomes €756.
  • Fixed amount, without "per night": comes off the stay once. −€50 from 7 nights: €840 becomes €790.
  • Fixed amount, with "Amount applies per night": comes off every night. −€20 per night over 9 nights = −€180.
  • Discounts are not cumulative. If a stay reaches several thresholds (e.g. 8 nights with profiles from 3 and from 7 nights), only the largest discount applies.
  • If the guest chooses a rate option with a discount on your booking site, again only the larger of the two discounts applies.
  • A price you set manually for one day (calendar override) remains the basis: the discount comes on top of that price.

On your own booking site

  • If the chosen number of nights reaches a threshold, the room card shows the regular total price struck through, the discounted price and the label "multi-night discount".
  • A profile you limited to certain rooms only applies to those rooms.

In quotes

When you create a quote, BedFlow applies the same discount as for a booking:

  • The room is shown at the full rate, with a separate line below it: "Length-of-stay discount −X%". That way the guest sees what they're saving.
  • The discount only applies to automatic rates. If you type in a price per night yourself, it stays as you entered it.
  • If the guest accepts the quote, the booking keeps the price from the quote.

When changing a booking

  • If you extend or shorten a booking with Extend / change dates, BedFlow shows the new price including the discount for the new number of nights. See Changing, moving and printing bookings.
  • If you move a booking to another room, the discount is kept.

On Booking.com, Airbnb and the other channels

A channel receives a price per night from BedFlow and doesn't know how long the stay will be. That's why BedFlow creates a separate rate per room with the discount on your channels, e.g. "Room 3 — Booking — Weekly discount (7+n)":

  • That rate follows the regular channel price (with your channel markup) and applies the discount to it.
  • It has a minimum stay equal to your threshold. So the guest only sees it when searching for at least that many nights.
  • If you switch the profile off or delete it, that rate also disappears from the channels.

Good to know:

  • A percentage discount works on the channels exactly as it does for you.
  • A fixed amount on the channels always comes off every night, even if you didn't tick "Amount applies per night". If you want your site and your channels to calculate the same way, use a percentage or tick "Amount applies per night".
  • A discount of the Divisor type isn't passed on to the channels; it only applies to your own bookings.
  • The room must be connected to your channels (see Channel manager). After you create it, it takes a little while before the discount rate is visible on the channel.

Frequently asked questions

Do several discounts stack? No. With overlapping thresholds, the largest discount wins.

Does a new discount also apply to existing bookings? No, only to new bookings and quotes. If you change the dates of an existing booking and have the price recalculated, the discount for the new number of nights counts.

I don't see the discount rate on Booking.com. The separate rate has a minimum stay: it only appears for searches of at least that many nights. Also check that the profile is set to active.
