Smart locks and keyless access

Give guests keyless access to their room and the front door, without handing over keys. BedFlow works with three lock systems. You choose one per property.
Which system?
Home Assistant (Bold)
Controls your Bold door locks through your own Home Assistant. For each room (and for the front door) you enter a webhook address. During their stay, guests see a button on their guest page to open the door. Ideal if you already have a Home Assistant installation.
Salto KS
Smart keypad locks from Salto. Every guest automatically receives a personal PIN code for the duration of their stay: enter the code, press #, door open. No app or button needed. You need a KS site commissioned by an installer (hub and keypad locks), and access credentials that you request from your Salto representative.
TTLock
Smart keypad locks from TTLock. Every guest automatically receives a personal PIN code that only works during their stay; the code expires after check-out. You need: a TTLock Wi-Fi gateway per zone, locks that support PIN codes (V4), and an approved developer app at TTLock (client ID and secret). In the TTLock app, switch on "remote unlock" for each lock, otherwise BedFlow cannot control the lock remotely.
Setting up
- Go to Settings → Integrations, category Smart Home & Home Automation, and click Configure on your lock system.
- Switch on the toggle and fill in the connection details:
| System | Toggle | Fields |
|---|---|---|
| Home Assistant (Bold) | Enable Home Assistant | Base URL, Long-lived access token (created in Home Assistant → Profile → Long-Lived Access Tokens) |
| Salto KS | Enable Salto KS | Client ID, Client secret, System user (username), System user (password), Site ID. The system user must be added to the site as an administrator. |
| TTLock | Enable TTLock | Client ID, Client secret, TTLock account (username), TTLock account (password). When you save, BedFlow fetches an access key itself and renews it automatically. |
- Link your locks per room in the collapsed section below:
| System | Section | Per line |
|---|---|---|
| Home Assistant (Bold) | Webhook URLs per room | Room key and Webhook URL |
| Salto KS | Locks per room | Room key and Lock / access group ID |
| TTLock | Locks per room | Room key and TTLock lockId (found in the TTLock app) |
- Click Save.
Which room key should I use?
entrancefor the front door or main entrance.room1,room2, … for the rooms. The digit is the number in the room's name: "Room 2" becomesroom2, "Suite 5" becomesroom5.
BedFlow cannot link a room without a number in its name to a lock. In that case, give the room a name with a number under Settings → Room types.
If fetching the TTLock access key fails, you get the message TTLock connection failed. Your details are still saved; check the client ID, secret, your TTLock login and whether your developer app has been approved.
What does the guest see?
That depends on your lock system — the guest page adapts automatically:
- Bold: a button to open the front door, and a button for each linked room in the booking. One tap, door open.
- Salto KS and TTLock: the personal PIN code displayed large, with a short explanation (Salto: code and #; TTLock: code and the lock symbol).
If you use WhatsApp, with Bold the guest also receives direct links in the welcome message to open the front door and their room. After opening via such a link, the guest lands on a page in their own language explaining how the Bold turn knob works (beep, turn the knob to open or close, second beep).
For a booking with several rooms that you check in room by room, only the rooms already checked in get access. See The guest portal.
Security
Access only works during the stay: the button or PIN code only becomes active once you have checked the guest in, and expires after check-out (with a fifteen-minute margin to settle up or collect something). So a guest can never open a door remotely before arrival. Every unlock, and every refused attempt, is logged.
Your access credentials are stored encrypted. Only switch on a connection once your locks have been tested: these credentials open real doors.
Missing a brand?
BedFlow can add further lock systems without anything changing on the guest page. Let us know via support@bedflow.eu.
