Connecting Airbnb to BedFlow

Settings → Integrations → Channels → Airbnb

With Airbnb you don't need to paste a Hotel ID or password into BedFlow. You log in to Airbnb once, give permission, and the connection is in place. Allow 5 minutes for the whole flow.

Prerequisite: you have an active Airbnb host account with at least one listing. Don't have one yet? First create an account at airbnb.com/host and publish at least one listing before you start the connection. In BedFlow you have at least one room with a base price.

What do you need?

Item Where or how
Login for your Airbnb host account Your Airbnb account email and password
Access to your two-step verification (SMS or authenticator app) Airbnb usually asks for a code for a new connection

Step 1 — Start connecting in BedFlow

  1. In BedFlow, go to Settings → Integrations.
  2. In the Channels category you'll find the Airbnb tile. Click Settings.
  3. In the Channel connection section is the Connect with Airbnb button. Click it.

The connection opens in a new tab. If nothing happens, check whether your browser is blocking the new tab.

Is this your first channel? Then BedFlow puts your accommodation on the channel manager itself at that moment, with your room types and prices, and switches on Airbnb and all your active rooms so that you can link them shortly.

Step 2 — Log in to Airbnb

  1. In the new tab you land on an Airbnb page asking whether Channex may access your host account. Channex is the channel manager BedFlow works with.
  2. Log in with the email address and password of your Airbnb host account.
  3. Confirm the code Airbnb sends you via SMS or your authenticator app.

Step 3 — Give permission

Airbnb shows which permissions the connection requests:

  • read and change availability
  • read and change prices
  • fetch your listings
  • receive bookings
  • read messages (optional, for the Airbnb chat in BedFlow)

Click Authorize. Airbnb sends you back and the connection is created. You can now close this tab.

Step 4 — Check the status in BedFlow

Back in BedFlow, in the Airbnb window, click Refresh status.

The Onboarding status switches to Active — your channel is live. Unlike Booking.com, Airbnb doesn't need to confirm separately: your permission is the confirmation.

Do you get Not yet found in Channex? Then the connection at Airbnb hasn't been completed yet. Click Connect with Airbnb again and go through steps 2 and 3.

Forgot to click Refresh status? No problem — BedFlow links the connection automatically within a few minutes. If it still doesn't work after 10 minutes, contact us. Error messages appear below the status.

Step 5 — Link your listings

Airbnb works with listings instead of room types: each room or house has its own Airbnb page with its own title, photos and price.

  1. In the same window, scroll to Room mapping.
  2. For each BedFlow room, choose the corresponding Airbnb listing in the OTA room drop-down.
  3. Switch on Active for every room you want to offer on Airbnb.
  4. Click Save.

BedFlow now starts a first synchronisation (can take up to 5 minutes for large accommodations) and sends your availability and prices for the next 365 days.

Want to relink a listing or add a house later? Use the Map rooms button in the same window. See Adding rooms or remapping later.

What happens after activation?

Frequently asked questions

What if I change my Airbnb password? No consequences — the permission is separate from your password. The connection only breaks if you explicitly revoke access in your Airbnb account.

How do I revoke the connection? Two options:

  1. In BedFlow: switch off the toggle on the Airbnb tile. BedFlow no longer sends anything to Airbnb; the permission at Airbnb remains in place.
  2. At Airbnb: go to the connected apps in your account settings, find Channex and revoke access. The connection is then fully broken straight away.

My Airbnb account has several listings — can I link them separately? Yes. In Room mapping you see all the listings of your Airbnb account. For each BedFlow room you choose which listing belongs to it, and switch them to Active one by one.

How does the commission compare with Booking.com? Airbnb typically charges hosts 15% commission (Booking.com 18%, Expedia 20%). The default Divisor for Airbnb in BedFlow is therefore 0.85. You adjust it in the Commission section.

Do I get Instant Book? Yes, if your listing is set to Instant Book on Airbnb. You set that at Airbnb itself, not in BedFlow. Bookings then come in without you having to confirm them manually.

Do I need to renew the connection after a while? No. Access is renewed automatically. Only if you revoke access yourself do you need to go through steps 1 to 3 again.

Does Airbnb get details of my other guests? No. Airbnb only gets the availability and prices needed to keep your listing up to date. We don't share details of guests who book directly or via other channels.
